Story 1 – Second 14-year-old Indigenous person to be killed in a week in Canada, this time it’s a girl in Winnipeg who had been released from custody the day before she was stabbed by another teen.

Story 2 – Quebec breaks its promise, will continue to incarcerate migrants for another six months.

Story 3 – Strike Special! Striking teachers in Quebec block the ports in Montreal and Quebec City and casino Lac-Lemay in Gatineau to put pressure on government.

Story 4 – Strike special! Rogers Sugar workers are stronger than ever as they resist management’s attempts to force them into 12 hour shifts, 24h/7 days a week.

Story 5 – Strike Special! FTG Aerospace, a company that builds cockpick components are fighting for higher wages (assemblers make just over $17/h). The company is now employing scabs.

Story 6 – Strike Special! Woorkers at Pete’s Frootique are fighting for moore wages. Sobey’s has offered just five cents more per hour.

Story 7 – Strike Special! Scabs create bitter strike conditions for the workers at the Vancouver Airport Sheraton hotel. Their strike has reached month six with very little hope of ending soon.

Story 8 – Strike Special! Workers at Canada’s largest cemetary Notre-Dame-des-Neiges in Montreal have finally ended their strike. For more than a year, the bodies piled up as cemetary workers demanded higher wages. They accepted the offcer at 100%

Story 9 – “Excellent student” shot and killed 14 at Charles University in Prague. He also apparently shot his father, a man and his newborn child in the past week.

Story 2 – Man is killed at a GFL Environment location in Rosslyn, Ontario. Owner of the company donates $25,000 to the family’s GoFundMe.

Story 3 – OPP steals a reporter’s camera (and then gives the camera back but takes the SD card) at the site of a fatal car crash.

Story 4 – the Yellowhead Institue announces that there is too little progress on the 94 recommendations from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission for them to release their annual report any longer.

Story 5 – Kia Canada is withholding cars that Canadians have purchased to not go over their 2023 sales targets. The plan is enraging car lot owners and consumers alike.

Story 2 – Woman dies after 14 hour wait in Abbotsford Regional Hospital — same hospital where an 85 year old woman stayed in a hallway for five days a month ago.

Story 3 – Canada set to blow more thab $2 billion on a fleet of flying murder robots for some reason.

Story 4 – Sudan has booted Chadian diplomats out of Sudan, accusing Chad and the UAE of supporting the Rapid Support Forces, something that Chad denies.

Story 5 – The DRC is kicking out 14,000 UN peacekeepers, the UN security council agrees to withdraw earlier than expected.

Story 3 – Fourth person in Calgary, third teenager, has been arrested on terrorism charges.

Story 4 – The US has supplied white phospherous to Israel that was used on civilians, constituting a war crime.

Story 3 – Baby formula has spiked by more than 20%, CTV News misses the chance to ask why a company that set up in 2016 to manufacture formula is still not manufacturing formula, despite a $24M grant from the Ontario government.

Story 4 – New report links Canadian mining companies to the Wagner group in Mali, except extremely indirectly — through their tax dollars. The report authors are a new think tank concerned about Russia’s growing influence in mining.

Story 5 – Very high number of so-called friendly fire deaths within the IDF, including on Oct. 7, which the IDF refuses to investigate due to it being “complicated.”

Story 6 – Person dies at Britian’s floating prison barge that is being used to hold asylum seekers who are awaiting trial.

Story 4 – Beth Kotierk resigns from the board of Nutrition North over the federal government’s support of Israel.

Story 5 – All 12 members of the Indigenous Advisory Board for CN Rail resign.

Story 6 – Yemen warns that they will shoot at any vessel passing through the Bab El-Mandeb straight either to or from Israel.

Story 2 – Two men arrested for terrorism due to their involvement in the Atomwaffen Division. For some reason that CTV doesn’t explain, they aren’t named and everyone’s identity is protected.

Story 3 – Bill 15 passes in Quebec creating Santé Québec, a single employer for all healthcare workers in the province. This will create a bureaucracy so enormous that no problems will ever be adequately fixed, pushing people to private healthcare:

Story 4 – Man’s body who died in the custody of Alabama’s corrections department is returned to his family but is heart is missing.

Story 5 – The WHO is the first UN body that manages to take a position in favour of a ceasefire and humanitarian aid.

Story 1 – Hay River representative RJ Simpson is the new NWT premier.

Story 2 – 88 cops in Calgary and Edmonton resigned or retired while they were under investigation for misconduct. This let them find work as cops elsewhere.

Story 3 – CIBC and RBC fined for insufficient alerts related to suspcious financial transactions; TD is under investigation in the US for enabling money laundering.

Story 4 – Despite being as high as three times as many emissions as industry produces, the emissions released by wildfires will not be included in annual emissions reports.

Story 5 – Liberals to double how much they have to pay despite the fact that they already pay as much as triple what Canadian students pay. Will create program for “underrrepresented international students” to compensate.

Story 3 – Edmonton cop who beat a man in the head and left him bleeding in the Edmonton river valley can return to work at a lower rank.

Story 4 – An American and a former DEA informant, has been charged in the assassination plot against Jovenal Moïse.
